Tattoo Aftercare

You will need A&D or Aquaphor, Lubriderm or any UNSCENTED hand lotion and any UNSCENTED hand soap. We recommend Dial Gold.

SANIDERM:

Leave on four FOUR days. It will bleed/ooze underneath, which is normal. You can shower & go about your day. If there are signs of

significant IRRITATION, water is getting trapped underneath, or it’s bleeding out of the bandage remove it and start the normal aftercare.

Remove bandage in shower. DO NOT rip it off aggressively, gently peel while water runs over the tattoo. Gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel and apply lotion when it looks dry

SOAKER BANDAGE

Leave black soaker bandage on for 4-6 hours.

Remove bandage, wash with warm water and anti-bacterial soap.

Your tattoo might ooze a bit so be careful that your clothes don’t touch it.

DAY 1-4

Wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day with warm water and anti-bacterial hand soap. Let air dry at all times, especially after a shower. Do not towel dry.

Apply a thin coat of Aquaphor or A&D 3-4 times a day. Do not over apply, just enough to cover the tattoo.

DAY 5-7

Continue to wash 2-3 times a day. Continue to air dry.

Apply thin coat of UNSCENTED hand lotion such as Lubriderm or Jergens 4-5 times a day. Your tattoo might itch, peel and/or flake. DO NOT scratch or pick at the tattoo at all. This is a normal part of the healing process.

Touch-ups may be necessary if any fallout occurs, don't panic. Touch-ups are free assuming you took care of the tattoo and didn't cause any disruption to the healing process. Any other touch-ups will require a small fee based on artist discretion.

If your tattoo becomes infected seek medical care immediately. Signs of infection include redness, swelling, hot to the touch, oozing (discharge) of a yellowish color, or pain to the touch.
